A security employee app is not a second intranet for the operations office. It is the phone surface the guard already lives on between rounds.

• Who’s on this post this week — published shifts and open shifts people can pick up without a text chain that wakes the wrong lead.

Homebase prices paid plans per location. A second client site can mean a second invoice — wrong meter for six active posts and a small ops office.

Deputy is a strong compliance scheduler. Richer chat is often Messaging+ or a higher tier. If Fair Workweek automation is why you bought it, keep it. If you bought it as “the employee app” and still run WhatsApp for handoffs, you are paying for a roster and still running the company in chat.

Honest limits (read these before you switch)

Pebb will not replace every tool on a security desk.

• No payroll. Timesheets leave the building. Payroll stays payroll.

• No LMS and no hiring ATS. If courses and recruiting pipelines are load-bearing, keep your training stack. See the Connecteam alternative for when to stay.

• GPS is a stamp, not a map of the shift. Clock-in can GPS-stamp and optionally require near a branch — not live breadcrumbs or guard-tour checkpoint tracking.

Stay on a dedicated guard-tour / checkpoint product if live breadcrumbs, NFC/QR tour trails, large geofence libraries, or full offline clock-in are non-negotiable.
