Unlike Shifts, Clock In, Forms, Tasks, Files, Wiki, Events, and News Feed, People Directory is not Space-scoped. It is the company-wide people layer — every teammate across branches, job sites, and departments — the same way team chat sits outside Spaces on purpose.That split is deliberate. Spaces are rooms with a member list and the tools that room needs — a New York store roster should not drown Boston. How it works: main screen, search, filters

Open Directory from the main navigation. The main screen shows organization members with:

• Directory tab — browse, search, filter, open profiles

• Time Off tab — next to Directory; used for PTO / leave (Premium)

• Search people — find by name (and often role, team, branch, or username depending on setup)

• Refresh — reload after invites or role changes

• People count — how many people the current view shows

• List view / Chart view — flat roster vs org chart

• Select team / Select branch — narrow by department or location

• Invite people — add new employees when you have permission

• Name filters the way the floor thinks: Operations, Field Team, Warehouse, Main Office, Construction Site A. Search beats scrolling once the roster grows past a handful of faces.

  How it works: list view and chart view

  List view is the working roster. Each row can show profile photo, name, username, role/title, branch label, team label, an Admin badge when relevant, and a three-dot action menu for authorized users (view, edit, set Admin/Manager, delete — depending on permissions).

  Chart view is the org chart. Reporting lines sit in a visual tree so new hires and multi-site managers stop asking “who owns this crew?” Construction and field teams use it for site supervisors; warehouses for shift leads; multi-location offices for branch managers.

  How it works: employee profiles and Send message

  Click a person to open their employee profile. Profiles can include photo and cover, name, role, username, Send message, branch, team, birthday, manager, bio, and a posts feed when they have shared anything.Send message is the practical bridge: find someone in Directory → open profile → start a direct chat in Team Chat.   Admins and managers keep structure accurate with invite, edit user (role, team, branch, manager), Set as Admin / Manager, and Delete when someone leaves. Limit admin rights to people you trust.

  Directory vs Spaces vs Time Off

  Directory = who’s who across the whole org (Basic).

  Spaces = focused rooms (branch, crew, managers-only) with the tools that room needs — still unlimited on both plans.

  Time Off tab beside Directory = PTO / leave management on Premium ($4). Do not budget Basic if leave approvals are the buying reason; evaluate Time Off on the full trial.
